Football Drops 41-7 Setback To Bridgewater State

Bridgewater, MA --- Bridgewater State College junior running back Justin Fuller (Berkley, MA) rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns, and the BSC defense intercepted three passes, as the host Bears down Worcester State College, 41-7, in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division action this afternoon at Swenson Field.

In front of a Homecoming Game crowd of over 2,500 spectators, Bridgewater State cruised to the easy divisional win as the Bears improved to 6-3 on the season and 4-2 in the NEFC Bogan.

Fuller rushed for scores of  1, 1 and 13 yards as he now has 17 touchdowns on the season.  Senior quarterback Steven Clark (East Falmouth, MA) added 102 yards on the ground and a touchdown as the Bears racked up 350 rushing yards and 443 yards of total offense.

The BSC defense limited the visiting Lancers to just 163 yards of total offense, and sophomore Jacob Curren (North Attleboro, MA) returned one of the Bears' three interceptions 40 yards for a touchdown.

Senior running back Jason Azulay (Seekonk, MA) wrapped up the BSC scoring output with a five-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter which gave the Bears a 41-0 lead.

Freshman running back Kyle White (Melrose, MA) ran it in from a yard out for the Lancers only score of the day with 4:03 remaining in the contest as it was set up by a 37 yard interception return to the BSC 10 yardline by junior Paul Lewis (Worcester, MA/South).

Freshman running back David Bugan (Webster, MA) paced the Worcester offense with 55 yards on ten carries.  Junior linebacker Tyler Russell (Princeton, MA) led the Lancer defense with a game high 16 tackles (13 solo) to go along with a forced fumble and recovery.

Senior linebacker Casey Florence (Bridgewater, MA) and senior free safety Josh Duquette (Plymouth, MA) had the other two interceptions for the Bears.  Florence, who returned his pick for 35 yards, also recorded three solo tackles.
