• Willis Tabbed Worcester State Men’s Head Soccer Coach

    Worcester, MA --- Director of Athletics Sue Chapman has announced Jason Willis as the new head coach of the Worcester State College men’s soccer team. Willis becomes the 15th head coach since the program was established in 1968 as he replaces Christian Battaglia who resigned in November.

    Norton, MA --- The regionally-ranked Wheaton College men's soccer team recorded its third straight shutout and ninth of the season during Wednesday afternoon's 2-0 victory over visiting Worcester State College in non-conference action at Keefe Field. Junior Fred Groos picked up eight saves in the setback for WSC.

    North Adams, MA --- Worcester State drew a 0-0 tie this afternoon with MCLA. The Lancers had a very frustrating game as they outshot the Trailblazers 28-18 and held a 13-1 edge in corner kicks. Keeper Evan Wilga notched his second shutout of the season in the tie.

    Standish, ME --- Worcester State defeated Saint Joseph's, 2-0, on Thursday afternoon at Westerlea Way Field. Senior Miguel Vidal dished a helper on the game-winning tally and he sent in the insurance goal five minutes later to help secure the win. Sophomore Evan Wilga stopped five shots in his first shutout.
