
Providence, RI --- Junior Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) scored 4,306 points in the heptathlon for 10th place as the top Division III finisher at the URI Heptathlon this afternoon.
With his sum today, Sliwoski is currently the top-ranked in the Division III New England and ECAC Division III in the event and sixth on the NCAA Division III Championship qualifying list.
Today's performance was also a solid improvement over his first heptathlon last year as he netted 4,088 points at the UConn Heptathlon. The school record is 4,779 points, which is held by current men's and women's associate head coach Matt Swett.
Sliwoski's best event was the shot put as he had a toss of 6th (11.82m/38-9.25) before he placed tied for seventh in the pole vault (3.75m/12-3.50). In addition, he also added eighth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.37) and 10th in the 1,000 (3:06.42.)meters.
He also placed 12th in the high jump (1.75m/5-8.75) and long jump (6.02m/19-9) and tied for 12th in the 60 (7.57).
