Sliwoski Wraps Up Day At UConn Heptathlon

Sorrs, CT --- Sophomore Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) settled for eighth place on the second day of the UConn Heptathlon this morning as he finished with 4088 total points.

Sliwoski had the sixth-best time in the 60 meter hurdles (9.05), the eighth-highest try in the pole vault (3.10m/10-2) before he wrapped up his day with a 3:15.51 in the 1,000.

As of this afternoon, Sliwoski is first on the Division III New England Heptathlon rankings, fourth on the NCAA Division III and 14th in the all of divisions of New England.

Jason's brother, Joe Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) of the University of Rhode Island beat out his sibling for seventh overall with 4,367 points.

 


Tuesday's Release

Sorrs, CT --- Sophomore Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) participated in four events on the first day of the UConn Heptathlon this afternoon as he finished in sixth out of nine competitors with 2452 points.

Sliwoski clocked a time of 7.54 in the 60 meter dash for the fifth-best time while he added a leap of 5.81 meters (19-00.75) for the eighth-highest long jump. In the other two events, he put up a personal-best jump of 1.80m (5-10.75) in the high jump (7th-best) and his toss in the shot put (11.55m/37-10.75) was the fifth longest.

Sliwoski was just 10 points off of his brother Joe Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) of the University of Rhode Island after the first day of competition.

All ten entrants were from Division I insitutions including the University of Connecticut and Northeastern.

The heptathlon will finish with the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and the 1,000 tomorrow.
