Houlihan and Jacques Keep Pace at New England DIII Regionals

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Indoor Track and Field Team sent four athletes to this year's New England DIII Regional held at the Track at the New Balance Center in Boston.

First year Ciara Adu-Addo (Worcester, MA) would set a new school record on the day with a 5.54m jump in the long jump to claim third in the event. Her leap sent her past Mara Kralian's previous measurement from 2010, of 5.47m. Junior Brodie Jacques (Rehoboth, MA) would claim 15th in the 60m, just missing out on the finals in the event, with a 7.06 second sprint. Senior Jack Houlihan (Rutland, MA) would take 32nd in the weight throw with a 13.42m toss, along with first year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) who would also claim 32nd in the weight throw after a 11.17m mark. Stokes would close out the day for the Lancers in the Shot Put, reaching a distance of  12.49m, the second broken school record of the day, which surpasses Hanna Carson's 12.32m mark from 2016. Stokes would grab the second third place finish for the Lancers in the meet to give the Women's team a score of 12 points.

 

Worcester State closes out their indoor season and begins to shift their focus to the Outdoor competition where their first meet will see them travel to Bridgewater State on March 23rd for the BSU Bears Invite.
