Men's Cross Country Places Fifth At MASCAC Championships

N. Dartmouth, MA --- Worcester State sophomore Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) recorded 27th place (28:21) to help pace the Lancers to take home fifth out of eight teams at the MASCAC Championships this afternoon at UMass Dartmouth.

Westfield State captured the championship followed by Bridgewater State (45), Fitchburg State (68) and Salem State (137). The Blue and Gold ended the meet with 154 team points.

Including their counterparts from the Little East Conference, the Lancers placed 11th out of 14 teams in the New England Alliance.

Freshman Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) and junior Michael Berkowicz (Whitinsville, MA) were six seconds apart in 39th (29:02) and 41st (29:08), respectively, as third-year Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) notched 49th (29:33).

First-year Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) added 50th (29:37) as junior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) registered 56th (29:56). Senior Eric Thulin (Millbury, MA) rounded out the top seven for WSU with 61st place (30:28).

The Lancers will take next week off and participate on November 12 in the NCAA Division III New England regional's which will be held in Brunswick, Maine in a meet hosted by Bowdoin.
