Bangs Helps Men's Cross Country Finishes 19th At James Early Invitational

 

Westfield, MA --- Freshman Jason Bangs (Charlton, MA) took home 89th overall (28:18.46) out of 388 entrants as he helped lead the Worcester State men's cross country team to 19th at the James Early Invitational this morning hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.

With 564 points, the Lancers were just 150 out of the running for the top 15 and had the fourth highest sum out of seven MASCAC schools in attendance at the meet.

Senior Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) tallied 116th (38:40.23) followed by freshman Devin Luce (Milford, MA), classmate Daniel Brunelle (Dracut, MA) and sophomore Will Whearty (Walpole, MA) who placed 130th (28:52.26), 165th (29:18.01) and 217th (30:12.63), respectively.

Senior Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) timed 217th (30:12.63) and classmate Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) wasn't far off in 237th with a split of 30:37.16 on the board.

Next week the Blue and Gold return to western Massachusetts for the Western New England Invitational.
