Bolduc Leads Lancers Charge at MASCAC Championship

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Cross Country team hit the 8k course in Devens, MA today to compete at the 2023 MASCAC Championship. The team hit the course looking to capitalize on a diligent season of hard work to make a strong showing on the day and get themselves primed for their NCAA season. The unexpectedly hot late October afternoon made for a challenging 8k course with steep climbs and twisty terrain.

First year Jacksen Bolduc (Auburn, MA) crossed in a blistering time of 30:42.91 which was just about 40 seconds off his collegiate best time to set the pace for the Lancers. His time had him crossing in 22nd place out of the 73 runners on the course. Coming in just under a minute behind was sophomore Alex Matsuyasu (Newton, MA) who finished in a time of 31:31.74 in the afternoon. Senior Matt Talbot (Belchertown, MA) finished the course in a time of 32:37.63 to be the third Lancer runner across the line. Sophomore Andrew Stokes (Wilmington, MA) would come in just over a minute behind with a time of 33:55.15 in a race off for the last 100m to edge out sophomore William Demers (Sutton, MA) who wrapped up the Lancers Day with a time of 34:08.02.

Worcester State is back in action on November 11 when they compete at the NCAA DIII East Championships for a chance to qualify for the NCAA national tournament.
