Final

Game One

Worcester State: 7

Lasell: 0

Game Two

Worcester State: 13

Lasell: 0

How it Happened:

The opening game of action would remain stalled until the third inning when the Lancers sophomore Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) worked her way around the bases off a single and stole home just before junior Emma Lapoint (Westfield, MA) would send a single to left field to bring across senior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA) for a 2-0 lead. Worcester would double their previous innings run in the fourth starting with junior Camden Heenan (Webster, MA) doubled to center to send in senior Abigail Koziol (Lunenburg, MA) and junior Amanda Adamuska (Dudley, MA). Lapoint would again nab some RBIs as her single to right field would bring home Heenan and Brouillard would see home plate again.

The top of the fifth would set the score at 7-0 off a junior Bella Gasbarro (Leominster, MA) single to center that brought Koziol in. The scoring would stall out after the fifth with Lasell failing to connect for a run as sophomore Taylor Coonan (Grafton, MA) would claim the complete game victory allowing just four hits in the outing.

Worcester would be quick to trigger in game two, scoring three runs early as junior Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) rocked a double to left center to send home Lapoint and Lanpher to get the game rolling. An Adamuska single to left would bring in Keefe and a 3-0 score into the second. The Lancers would close the top of the second 8-0 as Lanpher would record an RBIs in her continued hunt for 100 that would send home Junior Carisa Andrew's (Medfield, MA) while Keefe would duplicate the previous inning, just this time with a single to right to bring in Lapoint and Lanpher. Gasbarro would then get in on the action as she sent across Koziol and Keefe.

The third would find two more runs coming in for Worcester as an error in right field would allow Andrews to walk across home while Keefe was racking up the RBIs on the day, this time bringing Lapoint home. The fourth would find an error to bring in two further runs as Adamuska and Gasbarro would score in an error at second. Senior Sarah Gosselin (Charlton, MA) would come in to hit in the fifth and make quick work with a ground out to the pitcher that would send home Lapoint and end the scoring with a 13-0 lead. Lasell again attempted to find a run but Worcester would shut down their attempts and grab a second shut out win behind sophomore Peyton Maloney (West Boylston, MA) who completed the game, allowing just two hits and recording eight strikeouts.
