Worcester, MA- After a 4-0 week for the Lancers, Worcester State Softball had sophomore Peyton Maloney (West Boylston, MA) named the MASCAC Pitcher of the week.

Maloney threw two complete game shutouts, only giving up three hits, no runs, 20 strikeouts and two walks for the Lancers. Went the distance over six innings with only one hit and 12 strikeouts in the 9-0 win over Fitchburg State. Followed that up with a two-hit clean sheet with eight strikeouts and two walks in the 13-0 win over Lasell. On the season Maloney has had 20 appearances with five complete games at 84 innings pitched. Has 2.92 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP.

Worcester State is back in action today at 5pm as they host Salem State in a conference battle.
