Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team placed two on this week’s ECHA weekly honors. Sophomore Lea Gaspar (Chelmsford, MA) and graduate student Katie Puumala (Framingham, MA) were tabbed as co-players of the week for the ECHA after a dominating 7-0 performance against conference opponent Rivier University.
Gaspar picked up the honor after going for four points in Saturday’s game. The blueliner had four assists, including two on power plays for Worcester State.
Puumala was named in these weeks honors after registering a hat trick in the 7-0 victory in New Hampshire. The hat trick was Puumala’s first of the season.
Worcester State return to action on Friday Night when they travel to take on MCLA at 6pm.
