Lancers Drop Tough Battle at WestConn

Worcester, Mass. - The Lancers made the journey to Danbury Wednesday evening to take on Western Connecticut in non-conference action. Worcester State's two goals in the 4th quarter for a late comeback bid were not enough as the Lancers fell to the Wolves in a tough battle. 

 

FINAL SCORE: Worcester St 6, WestConn 18

 

Senior Shea Jarvis (Auburn, Mass.) led the way with a hat trick and one assist on five shots on goal, bringing the team total to 19 shots. First-year Molly Witkowski (Port Jervis, NY) also found the net on her first shot on goal, as well as senior Emily Pavoni (Granby, Mass.) and sophomore Hannah Erickson (Dunstable, Mass.). 

 

For WestConn, Dominique DeMarsico led the way with four goals and three assists on seven shots on goal for the Wolves, bringing the team total to 34. 

 

In the net, senior Savanna Rosado (Milford, Mass.) recorded nine saves on 27 shots on goal, while WestConn's Anna Schipf and Molly Bresnahan split time in the net, with Schipf saving five shots out of seven and Bresnahan recording five saves out of nine. 

 

This brings the Lancers to a 6-6 record on the season, while WestConn improves to 9-2.
