Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Lacrosse team continued their winning way this week, claiming two wins on the week to move to 3-0. Crucial to that early season success was this week's MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week, senior Olivia LaValle (Peabody, MA).
LaValle made 26 saves with a 74.3 save percentage and nine GAA in a 2-0 week for the Lancers. Allowed only one goal with four stops in the 19-1 win over Simmons. Added 22 saves in the 10-8 victory over Southern Maine. She currently sits fifth in DIII in save percentage. On the season thus far, LaValle has 21 saves, a 72.1% save percentage and has allowed just 12 goals.
The Lancers are back on the road on Wednesday when they travel to Western New England for a 5pm start.
