Women's Indoor Track Ties For 10th At Dartmouth Relays

 

Hanover, NH --- Underscored by the ECAC qualifying performance of the 4x200 meter relay team (1:49.82), the Worcester State women's indoor track team tied for 10th overall at the 46th Dartmouth Relays on Sunday afternoon.

The scoring meet, which used the top six times, heights and distances for scoring instead of the top eight, marked the first competition of the semester for the Blue and Gold.

The 4x200 meter relay squad of junior Nichole Tillery (Auburn, MA) who teamed with senior classmates Alexandria McMahon (E. Longmeadow, MA), Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) and Brittany Hodgerney (Leicester, MA) for a time of 1:49.82 in sixth overall.

Jasper also had several soild performances which included ninth in both the 60 meter hurdles (9.67) and shot put (35-8.75/10.89 meters) before she wrapped up the meet with 10th in the long jump (16-9.25/4.88 meters).

Junior Maddie Benson (Attleboro, MA) qualified for the Division III New England Championships with 13th in the 60 meter hurdles (9.90) as Hodgerney and Aliya-Marie Melville (Worcester, MA/South) placed 20th (8.42) and 21st (8.44), respectively in the 60.

Sophomore Elizabeth McCormack (Gloucester, MA) had a new personal best with eighth in the weight throw (42-6/12.95 meters) and junior Francesca Casasanta (Milford, MA) notched 14th in the triple jump (32-0.75/9.77 meters).

Worcester State will continue its season at the Tufts Invitational next Saturday.
