WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) was tabbed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women’s track & field rookie of the week following great performances at the Springfield College Classic this weekend.
She finished third in the long jump (5.23m/17-2.00), third in the 200 meter dash (26.96), and fifth in the 100 meter dash (12.68).
“Bernice went into this week with a few goals in mind,” said head coach Andrea Ouellette. “With the weather finally cooperating for us this week, it’s safe to say she accomplished those goals!” Season PRs in all of her events this week, she’s looking really good heading into conference!”
The Lancers head to Bridgewater State University this Saturday (Apr. 28) to compete in the MASCAC/Alliance Championships.
