Worcester State 3, Mass Maritime Academy 0 (25-4, 25-4, 25-5)
Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Brittany Ledoux (Nashua, NH) registered a team season-high 16 aces to help lead Worcester State past Mass. Maritime Academy, 3-0, on Saturday morning at Lancer Gymnasium. Freshman Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) dished out 10 assists while sophomore Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) notched four digs. Ledoux and junior Lauren Saylor (Swansea, MA) also added three kills apiece.
MCLA 3, Mass Maritime Academy 0 (25-4, 25-4, 25-7)
Worcester, MA --- Junior Marta Brown (Glens Falls, NY) tallied a double-double with 12 aces and 10 assists while sophomore Amanda Borsotti (Lee, MA) hit seven aces as Mass College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) defeated Mass. Maritime Academy, 3-0. Freshman Hayley Gunerson (Gavsevoort, NY) finished with five kills, three aces and one block while classmate Kayla Bromback (Lee, MA) also had a great all-around game with five kills, two digs and four aces.
Worcester State 3, MCLA 1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16)
Worcester, MA --- In the last match of this afternoon's tri-match, Worcester State defeated MCLA, 3-1. Saylor paced the Lancers with 16 kills while Maass finished with a match high 32 digs. Stoddard handed out 28 assists while freshman Katey Figella (Feeding Hills, MA) served out three aces.
For the Trailblazers, Christina Kidd (Glens Falls, NY) recorded nine kills and 10 digs while Brown passed out 35 assists. Bromback notched 13 kills to go along with six blocks while Borsotti finished with six kills. Brown also finished with six digs.
The Lancers will end the month of September with a 6 PM home matchup against Newbury on Tuesday while MCLA will visit Elms on Wednesday at 7. Mass Maritime will try again for their first win of the season in a MASCAC game against Salem State on Monday at 6 o'clock.
