Worcester State Athletics Introduces “Lancer Selects”

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Worcester State University Athletic Department announced today that specific Lancers home athletic contests (“Lancer Selects”) will be webcasted with a higher quality camera and audio system.

Worcester State students and interns, David Rixham and Scott Britz, will provide a pre and post-game show, in game broadcasting and analysis, and player/coach interviews throughout the webcasts of these Lancer home games.

“We are excited to interface with the Communication Department in developing an internship that will be a terrific “hands on” experience for aspiring Sports Broadcasters while at the same time being able to provide parents, relatives, alumni, and friends of Lancers Athletics the opportunity to watch select Lancers teams in action,” said Michael Mudd, Worcester State University’s Director of Athletics.  “By receiving this grant to purchase the required equipment from the University, it will allow us to have a higher quality webcast of these select games, while at the same time be able to archive some great footage for future recruiting and marketing needs.”

The “Lancer Selects” program will begin today with a live broadcast of the men’s soccer game against Pine Manor (7:00 p.m. start time).  “Lancer Selects” will continue to feature some fall sports contests for the remainder of the fall season, as well as select contests in the winter and spring seasons.
