  • Worcester State Becomes Ninth GNAC Member In Men's Golf

    Boston, MA --- Worcester State has joined the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as an associate member in men’s golf for the upcoming 2012 season. The Lancers will now have a chance to compete for a berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

    Sutton, MA --- The Lancers finished in 11th place (351; +63) at the Worcester State Invitational as junior Joe Belanger led the Lancers with a score of 83 (+11) at the par-72 Blackstone National Golf Course this afternoon.

    N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Joe Belanger shaved four strokes off his total from the first day to tie for 13th overall as he helped lead the Worcester State men's golf team to 15th Place at the UMass Dartmouth Hampton Inn Invitational at the Par 72 Allendale Country Club.

    Brewster, MA --- Junior Chris Ellis carded an 82 (+10) to tie for 92nd in a field of 168 competitors to help lead the men's golf team to finish in 34th place at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships after the first round.

    Worcester, MA --- Junior Chris Ellis and sophomore Zach Mahan each handed in cards of 80 (+8) to tie for ninth and help lead the Worcester State men's golf team to a third place finish out of seven teams at the Nichols Fall Bison Invitational at the par 72 Greenhill Golf Course.

    Williamstown, MA --- Sophomore Joe Belanger tied for 74th place with a two day score of 168 (+26) to help lead Worcester State to 18th place at the Williams Invitational this weekend at the par 71 Taconic Golf Club. Junior Chris Ellis was also one stroke behind in a tie for 76th (169; +27).
  • Men's Golf Competes At Middlebury Invitational

    Middlebury, VT --- The Worcester State men's golf team shaved 21 strokes off their total from yesterday's opening round to place 24th at the Middlebury Duke Nelson Invitational this afternoon at the par 72 Ralph Mayhre golf course. The Lancers were paced by sophomore Zach Mahan who placed tied for 105th with a two-day score of 174 (+30).
