Worcester, MA --- Senior standout Meaghan O'Keefe (Warren, MA) has collected a pair of regional accolades as she has garnered New England Women's Basketball (NEWBA) second-team honors and D3hoops.com All-Northeast third-team accolades.

O'Keefe, Worcester State's first MASCAC Player of the Year honoree since the 1999-00 season, she led the conference in rebounding (12.6) and total blocks (43) while her average points were third (15.8).

O'Keefe was also in the top five in the league in three point percentage (4th - .338), free throw percentage (T4th - .795) and field goal percentage (5th - .480).

In just 26 games, O'Keefe netted the sixth-most points in a single season (411) and she corralled the third-most boards in one campaign (328).

Among national leaders in the final NCAA Division III rankings, O'Keefe was ninth in both average rebounds and total while she was one of five in New England with 16 or more double-doubles.

O'Keefe wrapped up her career just 36 points shy of 1,000 as she averaged 10.5 points per game in 92 career contests. Her total blocks (152) and rebounds (757) are the fourth and third most in program history, respectively.

O'Keefe is the first Worcester State women's basketball player to garner D3hoops.com All-Northeast honors since the national website started honoring student-athletes regionally in 2005-06.

Bridgewater State senior Michaela Cosby (Walpole, MA) was only other honoree from the MASCAC as a first-teamer on the D3hoops.com squad and the second-team of the NEWBA team.

In addition, O'Keefe was one of four from around the league to represent the conference at the NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic on March 23 at Western New England University.

The Lancers wrapped up their 2012-13 season at 13-13 overall under the direction of 19th-year head coach Karen Tessmer. As Co-MASCAC Coach of the Year, Tessmer helped guide the team to a 9-3 mark which was good for second-place in the final regular-season conference standings.
