4x200 Relay Paces Women's Indoor Track On First Day At ECACs

New York, NY --- Sophomore Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) earned slots in the finals in two events and junior Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) stamped her ticket to a slot in the 60 meters as they helped pace the women's indoor track and field team on the first day at the ECAC Division III Championships at the NYC Armory.

Deininger clocked the third-best 60 meter dash time (7.81) and the seventh-best 60 meter hurdles finish (9.07) as her 60 meter hurdle time at the Division III New Englands (8.94) is now the 16th best time on the NCAA DIII list. Deininger will look to improve both times to qualify for next weeks DIII Indoor Championships at Grinnell College in Iowa.

Wise was right behind Deininger in the 60 meters in fourth (7.85) while freshman Liz Bodensieck (Raynham, MA) timed 25th (8.15).

The 4x200 meter relay of Bodensieck and first-year teammates Brittany Hodgerney (Leicester, MA), Alexandria McMahon (E. Longmeadow, MA) and Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) placed ninth out of 26 entrants with a time of 1:46.39, just 28 hundreths of a second off from All-ECAC accolades.

Sophomore Hannah Werneth (N. Yarmouth, ME) also had a toss of 15th in the weight throw (11.41m/37-05.25).
