Worcester State 3, Newbury 0
Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) registered 20 digs to help lead Worcester State College, 3-0, past Newbury this evening at the Lancer Gymnasium in non-conference women's volleyball. WSC won in sets 26-16, 25-10 and 25-13.
The Lancers, winners of seven out of their last nine, improve their record to 10-5 while Newbury falls to 2-11. With the victory the Blue and Gold have also equaled their win-total from a year ago after finishing the season at 10-22.
WSC junior Lauren Saylor (Swansea, MA) made nine kills while freshman Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) dished out 18 assists. Stoddard also finished the game with three aces.
Both teams will play away matches on Thursday at 7 PM. Worcester State will head west to Leicester to play Becker while Newbury will face Clark.
