Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomores Kristen Koles (Billerica, MA) and Juliana Tyo (Pepperell, MA) each notched 17 kills to lead Worcester State to a pair of 3-0 non-league victories over Massachusetts Maritime and Thomas in a tri-match played Saturday afternoon at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.
Freshman Jodi Hallett (Gill, MA) added 60 set assists in the two triumphs for the Lancers (13-14), who bested Thomas' Terriers (6-14) by scores of 25-5, 25-13 and 25-9 before topping the host Buccaneers (0-22) by scores of 25-5, 25-13 and 25-6).
Massachusetts Maritime closes out the 2009 campaign next weekend by heading to Bridgewater, Mass. to participate in the two-day Bridgewater State Halloween Classic that begins Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., as the Buccaneers will meet Worcester State in first round action.
Thomas hosts Maine-Farmington in its regular season finale on Wednesday evening in a non-league match in Waterville, Maine at 7:00 p.m.
