Krystyanna Ramsdell Announced as new Sports Information Director

The Worcester State University Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Krystyanna “Krys” Ramsdell has been named the new Sports Information Director effective immediately. Ramsdell steps in to replace Craig Kaufman, who was Interim Sports Information Director for the 2021-2022 season after the departure of Curtis Fraser at the start of the 2021 campaigns.

“We are excited to add Krystyanna to our Lancers Athletic Department. She brings great experience working within a college athletic program, having served in various capacities as an administrator, coach and student-athlete,” said Worcester State Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. “In addition she has a great familiarity with Worcester State University. She will be a welcome addition to our team!”

Ramsdell earned her undergraduate degree from Catholic University in 2012 with a B.A. double major in History and Political Science. In 2014, she earned her Master's degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University.

Prior to joining WSU, Krys worked full-time at Strategic Communications as Senior Project Manager working on multiple external clientele projects.

From 2014 to 2018 Ramsdell was at Bridgewater College (VA), where she was their first recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant. She was the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Programming & Well-Being, as well as the Assistant Field Hockey and Goalie Coach. She also worked with campus departments such as Multi-Cultural Affairs, Career Services, Counseling, and with the Title IX Coordinator to plan student-athlete and staff trainings, assisted the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.), planned the year-end Golden Eagle Awards banquet, game day Alumni events, various fundraising projects, and managed the athletic laundry service.

In her 4 seasons as the assistant coach, the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team had two appearances in the ODAC title game. In 2014, the Eagles reached the ODAC championship game for the first time in program history. In 2015, the Eagles won the program's first-ever ODAC championship reaching the NCAA Sweet 16.

While earning her Master’s degree, Ramsdell served as an intern in the athletic business office at Division 1 Northeastern University where she was responsible for financial compliance and budgets. She assisted with organizing account reconciliations, financial analysis, and other special projects for the Huskies. Simultaneously, Krys was the head field hockey coach at Concord Academy in Massachusetts and served as their assistant basketball and assistant lacrosse coach.

“I am excited to be part of this program and look forward to working with the teams at Worcester State, a place that has been a home away from home for years” said Ramsdell. “All of the staff, coaches, and departments have been amazing to work with so far and I cannot wait to step into this role and to assist in its continued success.”
