DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has named Worcester State's freshman center, Britt Herring (W. Brookfield, Mass.) the Corvias ECAC Division III New England Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 24.
Herring averaged 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in a 0-2 week for the Lancers.
“Britt keeps making strides and continues to establish a strong post presence for us,” stated head coach Karen Tessmer. “It is a positive learning experience for her to play against the top post players in the conference.”
She tallied 10 points, eight rebounds (four offensive) and five blocks in the 65-50 setback to Bridgewater State. She then finished her week with a team-high 17 points and 12 rebounds in the 75-51 loss to Framingham State.
Herring currently leads her team by averaging 11.6 points per game thus far this season.
