Keene State Upends Field Hockey 5-0

 

Keene, NH --- Strong first-half leads Keene State past Worcester State in Little East Conference Field Hockey action this afternoon at Owl Athletic Complex.

Keene State (9-4, 61 LEC) opened with four first-half goals en route to a 5-0 triumph of Worcester State (2-9, 0-7 LEC).

Senior Alex Billert (Center Conway, NH) netted a pair of goals while twin sister Kalin Billert (Center Conway, NH) added a goal and an assist to help lead the Owls offensive attack.

WSU senior net-minder Rebecca Mullen (Peabody, MA) tallied eight saves in the losing effort as Keene State went with a three-pronged attack in net with neither keeper being called upon to make a stop. Sophomore Caitlin Davino-Draper (Hanover, MA) earned the win between the pipes for the Owls recording her fourth shutout on the season.

Keene State ended the game leading in shots, 27-1, and penalty corners, 16-2.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday night when the Lancers return home to take on Clark at 7 PM, and Keene State closes out their four game homestand with a 6 PM contest against Middlebury.
