• Santora, Salem State Takes Home Worcester State Invitational

    Sterling, MA --- Salem State junior Jeff Santora medaled with a score of 68 (-3) to help the Vikings take first place at the Worcester State Invitational this afternoon at the par 71 Sterling National Country Club. WSC sophomore Bob Bruso finished right behind with even par in second place.

    Cranston, RI --- The Worcester State Golf team placed eighth overall on the second day of the Johnson & Wales Invitational as they finished with 673 total strokes (+105) at the 71 par Cranston Country Club. The Lancers who were tied for eighth with Tufts to start day two had an improvement of 11 strokes.

    Dartmouth, MA --- Sophomore Bob Bruso took home the top prize while senior Nick Lombardi tied for second as the Worcester State Golf team placed fifth – just 26 strokes off the lead – at the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by UMass-Dartmouth at Allendale Country Club.

    North Dartmouth, MA --- Worcester State senior Nick Lombardi tallied a 76 (+4) to tie for third on the first day of the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by UMass-Dartmouth at the par 72 Allendale Country Club. The Lancers finished first day of competition in seventh place with a team score of 332 (+44).

    Stow, MA --- Sophomore Bob Bruso scored a 77 (+5) to tie for eighth place and help the Lancers finish in 15th out of the 20 teams in attendance at the Lou Fluemere Invitational at Stow Acres Golf Club hosted by Bentley. The Lancers scored a team total of 343 (+55).
  • Lombardi Leads Lancers At Babson Spring Opener

    Plymouth, MA --- Senior Nick Lombardi took home the gold medal at the Babson Spring Opener on Sunday after he posted a total round score of 145 strokes (+1) to help lead Worcester State’s fifth place finish. After firing a 74 on the 72 par Atlantic Country Club course, Lombardi led all competitors with a score of 71 on the second day of competition.

    Plymouth, MA --- Senior Nick Lombardi tied for first place firing a 74 (+2) with Nick Antonelli of Salem State after the first of two rounds of play at the Babson Invitational hosted by Atlantic Country Club in Plymouth (Par 72). As a team the Lancers are currently tied for sixth with Rhode Island College with a cumulative team score of 328, just 13 strokes off the lead of local rival Nichols.

    Worcester, MA --- Worcester State sophomore Bob Bruso has been named to the seven member Division III All-New England team after his performance this past week at the 74th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships.

    Brewster, MA --- Sophomore Bob Bruso finished the New England Golf Intercollegiate Championship with a two round score of (+8) to help lead the men’s golf team to a 17th place finish out of the 42 teams at the 74th Annual New England Intercollegiates.
