
North Dartmouth, MA --- Worcester State senior Nick Lombardi (N. Grafton, MA) tallied a 76 (+4) to tie for third on the first day of the Hampton Inn Classic hosted by UMass-Dartmouth at the par 72 Allendale Country Club. The Lancers finished first day of competition in seventh place with a team score of 332 (+44).
Sophomore Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) stayed hot as he fired a 77 (+5) to tie for eighth while junior Dave Urella (Worcester, MA) tied for 44th with an 88 (+16). Tim Howard and junior Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA) rounded out the finishers for WSC as they tied for 53rd (91; +19) and 57th (93; +21), respectively.
The Blue and Gold are 19 strokes behind Trinity (CT) who had a cumulative total of 305 strokes followed by Salem State (317), Johnson & Wales (321) and local rival Nichols (322).
