Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State freshman Cody Brier (Marlboro, MA) has been selected as this week's MASCAC Ice Hockey Player of the Week for his efforts in leading the Lancers to the Worcester City Shootout crown this past weekend.
Brier netted a pair of goals in a pair of wins which included the game-winning marker in a 2-1 semifinal triumph over Assumption and the go-ahead third-period tally in a 4-3 win over Becker in the title game.
The first-year forward is currently eighth on the squad with two points and his first collegiate goal was the match clincher against the Ice Hounds in the semifinals.
Worcester State is currently 2-6 on the season and 0-3 in MASCAC action. The Blue and Gold play a pair of conference games on the road starting with Framingham State on Thursday (7:30 PM) and Salem State on Saturday (2 PM).
