Westfield, MA --- Freshman Tyler Fallica (Coram, NY/Ogden Mustangs) has been named MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week for his standout efforts in a win over UMass Dartmouth this past Friday.

In 50:29 minutes of action, Fallica recorded a 2.38 goals against average and a .944 save percentage which included stopping 28 shots in a 3-2 triumph over the Corsairs as he recorded his first collegiate victory for the Lancers.

Fallica has made the most of his opportunities between the pies for WSU this season with a 1-1-1 record on the season while turning aside 90 shots in 190:39 minutes for the Blue and Gold. He has also recorded a 2.52 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

With his solid performance against UMD, Fallica helped backstop an effort that snapped a eight-game losing streak that dated back to last semester.

Worcester State (3-8-2, 2-4-1 MASCAC) continues their season this Saturday against Fitchburg State at 7:40 PM in a key conference and Sterling Cup match-up.
