Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s Soccer team was selected 5th in this season’s conference pre-season poll as selected by the conference coaches. The Lancers look to return to the MASCAC Championship this season behind first year head coach Adam Howarth and a talented mix of newcomers and returners to the team. Leading the team into action will be Manny Ramirez alongside dual MASCAC second team selections Brendan Lower and Declan Ryder.
Finishing in the top spot in this season’s poll was last year’s Champion Bridgewater State who tallied 46 points and grabbed five first place votes. Salem State finished in second place with 43 points and grabbing the final three first place votes. Westfield State would finish in the third spot with 37 points while Framingham State collected 29 for fourth. Worcester finished just behind the Owls with 26 points with Fitchburg State sitting in sixth with 19 points. MCLA and Mass. Maritime claim the final two spots with the Trailblazers claiming 16 points and the Buccaneers finishing with eight.
The Lancers begin their season on August 31st at WPI at 1pm before beginning home action on September 18th at 7pm versus UMass-Dartmouth
