
Worcester, MA- After a 1-1 week for the Worcester State Men’s Soccer team, first year Sergio Torrado (Arroyomolinos, ES) was named the MASCAC Defensive and Rookie Player of the Week.
Torrado collected six saves, a 0.00 GAA and 1.000 save percentage in the Lancers’ 3-0 win over Fitchburg State in his only game of the week. On the season he has allowed just one goal for a .25 GAA and has recorded 16 saves for a .941 save percentage in his five games of action where he has gone 2-0-1, with both wins coming in shutout fashion.
Being named to the honor roll along side Torrado is teammate sophomore Nick Guidi (Wilbraham, MA) who scored his first goal of the season and followed it up five minutes later with his second goal of the season in the Lancers’ 3-0 conference victory over Fitchburg State.
The Lancers are back in action on Tuesday when they head to Springfield for a 6pm meeting.
