Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomore Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA) has been named MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week for a stellar performance in three events at the Alden Invitational this past weekend.
Gibson broke an 11-year standard in the 60 meters that had been held by Lancer Hall of Famer Stanley Egbor as he qualified himself for the Open New England Championships with a top time of 6.94.
Gibson also added fourth in both the 200 meters (23.07) and long jump (6.17m/22-0.25) as they both stamped his ticket to the Division III New England Championships.
As of this morning, Gibson had the best 60 meter time in the NCAA Division III after the first week as he edged freshman Joe Carr (Burnt Hills, NY) of SUNY Oneonta (6.96).
The Lancers will compete next week at the Harvard Open to close out their meets for the Fall semester.
