Outdoor Track Has Strong Showing at Division III New England Regionals

Springfield, MA --- Freshman Mara Kralian (Grafton, MA) led the Lancers as she was named All-New England in three events as the women’s outdoor track and field team tied for 16th with 13 points while the men were paced by senior Mark Johnson (Woburn, MA) at the Division III Outdoor New England Championships on Saturday.

Kralian continues to impress as she placed second in the 100 meter dash to break her school-record from last week with a time of 12.73 while she also finished seventh in the 200 (26.40). Kralian along with sophomore Andrea Ouellette (Salisbury, MA) and first-year teamates Sarah Rafferty (Uxbridge, MA) and Kristina Lisacki (Woburn, MA) each walked away with sixth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 50.77.

Kralian took ninth in the long jump (5.19m) followed by Ouellette who notched 12th (5.03 m). Ouellette also added 12th in the triple jump (10.65m) and 16th in the 100 meter hurdles (17.02). Rafferty rounded out the individual runners with 14th in the 100 (13.15).

In the field for the women, freshman classmates Rachael Baker (Mystic, CT) and Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) each placed ninth (34.15m) and tenth (32.94m), respectively in the javelin throw.

The 4x800 meter relay of junior Kara Antrim (Rowley, MA) along with freshman teammates Meg Plant (Franklin, MA), Danielle Clifford (Attleboro, MA) and Maura Withington (Walpole, MA) broke their school record set two weeks ago (10:20.81) at the Silfen Invitational with a time of 10:15.44. The previous 17 year mark was 10:37.9 and it was held by Erica Pierce, Melissa Hilman, Kate Curran and Brenda Smith.

The men were paced by Johnson who placed tenth (50.80m) in the javelin throw and 18 th (6.37m) in the long jump. The men’s 4 x 100 meter relay team of Johnson, senior Matt Leeds (Bellingham, MA) along with first-years Ian Fields (Shrewsbury, MA) and Adam Correia (Fall River, MA) finished 15th overall with a time of
