
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Basketball team continues their Rookie of the Week dominance as first year Lena Waldron (Quincy, MA) has been named MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the eighth time this season.
Waldron averaged 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and 1.5 blocks in two games for the Lancers. Scored 17 points with seven rebounds, two assists and a block in the 82-73 setback to Salem State this past Saturday. On the season, thus far, Waldron has recorded 223 points, 144 rebounds with seven blocks and 27 steals.
Joining Waldron in the MASCAC weekly honors, is senior Katie Hurynowicz (Tyngsboro, MA) who - averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and three steals in two games for the Lancers. Finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in the 83-73 setback to Salem State. Hurynowicz has recorded 385 points with 175 rebounds, 53 steals and 13 blocks in the season.
Worcester State is back in action on Wednesday when they welcome Framingham State at 5:30pm in a game being played in honor of the senior class.
