Connors Named MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's senior attack, Jackie Connors (Ashland, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's lacrosse player of the week for her performance in the opening stretch of the 2016 season.

 

In the four games played thus far on the season, Connors tallied 19 goals and 10 assists for 29 points with 14 draw controls, nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

 

She tallied five goals and four assists with six draws, three ground balls and three caused turnovers in the 19-16 win over Gordon College last week. She then collected five goals and four assists with three caused turnovers, a draw and a ground ball in the 21-13 win over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.

 

"Jackie has been one of the top players in the MASCAC since her freshman year," commented head coach Deb Draper. "She has started out this season with some of best play yet."

 

The Lancers women's lacrosse team will take on Castleton on Friday (Mar. 18) on their home field before traveling to Santa Barbara, Calif. over the weekend for their spring games.
