Witkowski and Fisher Named MASCAC Players of the Week

Worcester, MA- After going 2-0 on the week and clinching the MASCAC #1 Seed and Regular Season Championship for the first time, the Worcester State Women’s Lacrosse team had two named to the weekly honors. Juniors Molly Witkowski (Greenville, NY) and Mckayla Fisher (Peabody, MA) took home offensive and defensive player of the week honors.

Witkowski finished with nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in a 3-0 week to claim a share of the MASCAC Regular Season title. Added five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Tallied five goals and two assists in the 17-11 win over Framingham State. Added a goal and assist in the 16-2 win over Mass. Maritime finished the week with three goals and four assists in the 20-7 win over Fitchburg State to secure the top seed in the upcoming tournament.

Fisher collected 14 ground balls, four caused turnovers and 14 draw controls, including her 200th in a 3-0 week for the Lancers. Had four ground balls and two caused turnovers in the 17-11 win over Framingham State. Finished with six ground balls and a caused turnover in the 20-7 win over Fitchburg State.

Worcester State is back on the field on Thursday in the conference semifinals at 6pm.
