Worcester State 2, Plymouth State 0
Worcester, MA --- Senior Amanda Beaudet (Auburn, MA) and freshman Danielle Clifford (Attleboro, MA) each recorded goals to help pace Worcester State, 2-0, over Plymouth State in non-conference women's soccer action at Coughlin Stadium. The Lancers, winner of five out of their last six games, improve to 5-1-1 while the Panthers fall to 2-2-2.
Beaudet got WSC on the board in the 32nd minute when classmate Tiffany Rotatori (Auburn, MA) fed her a pass that was directly in front of keeper Angelina Labroad (Hampton, NH). Rotatori's third assist of the season now gives her a team-leading 13 points this.
Clifford gave the Lancers some insurance with her first collegiate goal when she hit home a marker on an open net in the 43rd minute, just before the end of the first stanza.
Worcester State played outstanding defense as they only allowed just two shots in the entire game. The Blue and Gold also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Labroad was outstanding for the Panthers as she rejected 11 shots between the pipes. Sophomore Rachael Armenti (W. Boylston, MA) earned both her third straight win and her second shutout of the season. Armenti was not called upon to make a save.
Both teams will face conference opponents on Saturday on the road at 1 PM. The Lancers will face-off against MCLA while Plymouth State travels to Keene State.
