Rachael Armenti Selected MASCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior keeper Rachael Armenti has been named MASCAC Player of the Week after she helped pace Worcester State to a 1-0-1 week.

Armenti, a product of West Boylston, MA (Holy Name), recorded a pair of shutouts in 200 minutes of action for the Lancers with nine saves, including eight stops in a scoreless double-overtime tie with Westfield State. The tie helped WSC stay atop the standings of the MASCAC as they remain unbeaten at 2-0-2 in conference play.

She stopped the only other shot she faced this week in a 3-0 victory over Johnson & Wales.

Armenti has had a solid season between the pipes for Worcester State as she has 77 saves and a save percentage of .865, which are both third in the MASCAC. After allowing eight goals through her first five games this season (1.60 Goals Against Average), she has only given up four goals in her last six games to lower her GAA to 1.06, which is fourth-best in the conference.

Armenti has five shutouts this year to her credit and she has helped the Lancers post a MASCAC third-best 0.90 GAA.

Worcester State (6-5-2) has a pair of MASCAC games in the next week when they travel to Framingham State on Thursday for a 3:30 kickoff and entertain Mass Maritime on Saturday at 1 PM.
