Kevin Cumberbatch has been the head coach of the Worcester State women's soccer team since 2008. In 2018, he picked up his 100th win at the helm of the Lancers.

During the 2021 Season Cumberbatch lead his team to a 5-1-1 record in the MASCAC conference falling in the Conference Finals game for his squads 11th appearance in the MASCAC tournament and ninth MASCAC Final Appearance. 

As the winningest coach since the program was elevated to varsity status in 1991, Coach Cumberbatch has helped guide the Lancers to the MASCAC Tournament semifinals in every season while also earning NCAA Division III Tournament berths in 2010, 2014, and 2016.

Cumberbatch led his team to three consecutive MASCAC Regular season titles as his 2014, 2015, and 2016 squads went undefeated in the MASCAC. The Lancers also shared the regular season title in 2011 and his 2009 squad also posted an unbeaten conference slate with a mark of 4-0-3.

After getting bounced from the MASCAC Tournament finals in 2011, the Lancers rebounded in the postseason and advanced to the ECAC Division III New England Championship game and claimed the tournament trophy by defeating Keene State in penalty kicks.

Worcester State has earned appearances in the MASCAC Tournament Championship game in 11 out of the last 13 seasons that Coach Cumberbatch has been at the helm.

Coach Cumberbatch first joined the team in 2007 as the top assistant and he helped guide the squad to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and #21 ranking nationally in the final NSCAA poll.

At Southern New Hampshire University, Coach Cumberbatch enjoyed a successful career as a standout center-back. He was a member of the SNHU team that played in the 2002 Division II National Championship game and in 2006 he was selected as a captain of the team his senior season. For his efforts in 2006, Coach Cumberbatch was named to the NE 10 All-Conference second team.

Coach Cumberbatch has also been on the staff at the Nutmeg Soccer School in Manchester, NH for six years. In 2008, Coach Cumberbatch played professionally with the Western Mass Pioneers as a right back.
