Northampton, MA --- Freshman Sarah Rafferty
(Uxbridge, MA) along with sophomore’s Kara
Antrim (Rowley, MA) and Andrea Ouellette
(Salisbury, MA) each punched their tickets for the NCAA Division
III Regional’s at the Smith Invitational. The competition
featured all divisions in a non scoring meet to kick off the
beginning of the women’s indoor track season.
Rafferty took the top spot in the 200 meter dash (27.65) and
second in the 55 (7.71) while Ouellette finished first in the
triple jump (33-08.75. Antrim rounded out the group with second
place in the 1000 (3:07.93).
Ouellette also recorded second in the 55 meter hurdles (9.70) and
ninth in the 200 (29.88) while Rafferty notched second in the long
jump (15-02.25).
Freshman Melissa Chisholm (Ashburnham, MA) and
sophomore Becky Galipeau (Bellingham, MA) finished
second in the triple jump (30-06.25) and high jump (4-09.00),
respectively, while first-year Kerri Flaherty
(Weymouth, MA) took third in both events (TJ-29-10.75; HJ-4-07.00).
Sophomore Christina Bisbee (N. Attleboro, MA)
finished her afternoon registering sixth in the weight throw
(31-03.75).
Rookie Christine Corcoran (E. Walpole, MA) placed
fifth in both the 200 (29.20) and the 400 (1:05.66) while classmate
Maura Withington (Walpole, MA) crossed the line in
third in the 600 (1:47.34).
Freshman Danielle Clifford (Attleboro, MA) ran
fourth in the mile (5:47.70) while second-year Rachael
Sullivan (Ipswich, MA) and junior Adrienne
Fisher (Wilmington, MA) finished fourth (12:31.88) and
fifth (13.24.07) in the 3000, respectively.
Next week WSC will compete in the Harvard Invitational starting at
11 AM.
