
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Bernie Chase, is happy to announce the release of their 2025 schedule. The Lancers finished a tough schedule last year at 9-19, 4-3 in the MASCAC, ultimately falling in the MASCAC semifinals to the top seeded Westfield State. Worcester looks to return to the Championship game and receive the automatic qualifier for the NCAA tournament led by seniors Katie Cueva, Kate Stedronsky, Cassie Millea, Jillian Gross and Cassidy D’Esposito who have been crucial figures in the team’s continued success along with a depth of returning talent and fresh incoming faces to the squad.
“The team is excited for the 2025 season! We have seven seniors on the 2025 squad bringing experience and enthusiasm to their final season” says Coach Chase. “We have six incoming players who will be joining the team to help make the competitive 2025 schedule a success again this year.”
Worcester will begin their season with a trip to Heidelberg University in Tiifin, Ohio for a two day, four match weekend over August 29th and the 30th. With a return to New England, the Lancers will journey to UMass-Dartmouth on September 2nd before taking on their first tri-match of the season at Eastern Connecticut on the 6th that will have them facing off with the Warriors and Bay Path. September 9th will find the Lancers at Rhode Island College before they host their home opener in a tri-match of their own that will bring Plymouth State and Connecticut College to Brissette Court on September 13th. The game will also serve as the teams Alumni Day with former athletes invited to return to the court prior to game one of the days, for a match and brunch. September 16th is Worcester battle day as the Blue and Gold journey to WPI to begin a four-date travel stretch that will send them to Suffolk for tri-match three with fellow opponent Rhode Island College on September 20th prior to the conference schedule opening at Framingham State on September 23rd and newcomer to the conference, Anna Maria, on September 26th.
Worcester will open October at home with their conference home opener versus MCLA before traveling to MIT for a tri-match with Mount Holyoke on the 4th. Worcester will return home on October 11th to host Salem before continuing their conference schedule at Mass. Maritime on the 14th. October 18th find Salve Regina hosting Worcester and Smith for a day of Volleyball before Worcester return home to welcome the quick jaunt of Clark University on October 23rd. The rest of the month will be a conference schedule of the Lancers at Bridgewater State on the 25th and hosting Fitchburg State on the 29th.
November will provide Volleyball with a taste of everything as they compete in their final tri-match, this time hosted by Smith on the 1st, which will find Curry and Worcester in competition. Worcester wraps up on Brissette hosting Keene State, which will also serve as the team’s senior night, will be played on November 4th with Westfield to close out the regular season on conference schedule on the 8th before the tournament begins the following week.
