Howes Earns Fourth MASCAC Rookie of the Week Accolade

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s freshman guard, Cal Howes (Maynard, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men’s basketball rookie of the week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

 

Howes averaged 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in a 2-1 week for the Lancers.

 

He picked up 12 points, a rebound and a steal in the 71-63 quarterfinal win over Westfield State, then netted seven points, three rebounds and an assist in the 71-68 semifinal win over Fitchburg State. In the MASCAC Championship game, Howes registered 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block.

 

This is Howes’ fourth MASCAC Rookie of the Week Award.
