Lewis Tabbed MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s Justin Lewis (Lynn, Mass.) has been tabbed the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) field athlete and rookie of the week, as announced by the league Monday (May 15) afternoon.

 

Lewis won the high jump to earn All-New England honors at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Williams College this past weekend. He had a top clearing of 2.06m to take home the title.

 

Justin joins a select group of Worcester State track and field athletes who have earned an All Division New England Championship title,” said head coach Al Halper.  “His focus is now on getting to the podium at the D3 NCAA Championships.”

 

“He looks stronger and more explosive each week and his practice sessions have been productive,” commented Halper.  “He dealt well with the pressure of the competition this past weekend to bring home an exciting win. His best is yet to come.”

 

This upcoming weekend, the track & field teams travel to MIT for the Last Chance meet.
