Weeks Tabbed MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s senior thrower, Sam Weeks (Methuen, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league Monday morning.

 

Weeks threw for a personal record (PR) distance of 56.47m in the hammer throw to take first place at the MIT Last Chance Meet. He placed second in the shot put with another PR of 16.70m and added another second place finish in the discus (50.48m).

 

Weeks currently stands at 10th in the discus, 13th in the shot put, and 18th in the hammer on the NCAA Division III national outdoor list. With these rankings, Weeks qualifies for the NCAA Division III Championships to be hosted by Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio later this week.
