Athletic Department Announces Lancer Selects for the Remainder of 2015

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Worcester State University Athletic Department is happy to announce the remaining Lancer Selects broadcasts of the 2015 year. The Lancer Selects program broadcasts specific Lancers home athletic contests (Lancer Selects) via webcast with a higher quality camera and audio system. 

 
 

“We are pleased to announce our remaining Lancer Selects dates for 2015,” said Director of Athletics, Michael Mudd. “We have received a great response from all of our Lancer Athletics supporters and are happy to provide the opportunity for them to see the Lancers in action with a high quality webcast.”

 
 

The Lancer Selects program for the winter season will begin on Tuesday, December 1 with a live broadcast of the men’s basketball game against UMass-Dartmouth (8:30 p.m. start time at Assumption College). Lancer Selects will continue to feature some winter sports contests for the remainder of the winter season, as well as select contests in the spring season.

 
 

Listed below are the Lancer Selects dates for the winter season:

 

 

Tuesday, December 1

Men’s Basketball vs. UMass Dartmouth @ 8:30 p.m.

Game will be played at Assumption College

 

Thursday, December 3

Men’s Ice Hockey vs. Plymouth State @ 8:30 p.m.

Game will be played at Holy Cross

 

Friday, December 11

Women’s Basketball vs. Springfield @ 7:00 p.m.

Game will be played at WPI 

 

 

MEET OUR BROADCASTERS:

 

David Rixham, a native of Northbridge, Mass., is a senior at Worcester State University and is currently pursuing a degree in communications with a concentration in journalism. Rixham has been involved with Worcester State Athletics since 2012 as a member and captain of the golf team. Rixham has been involved in public address announcing at Northbridge High School since 2006, announcing football, soccer, field hockey, and basketball games. He is looking forward to this semester and being the voice of the Worcester State Lancers for the fall of 2015.

 
 

"Ever since I was four years old, I knew I had to do something in sports," said Rixham. "Talking about sports and informing audiences about what is going on at field level has been a dream of mine since I enrolled in college. This opportunity is the one I've been looking for to jump start my career."

 
 

Scott Britz, a native of Hudson, Mass., is a senior at Worcester State University and is currently pursuing a major in Communications with a minor in history and criminal justice. Britz played baseball and basketball in high school and still tries to play on adult leagues as much as he can. He is currently in his final semester at Worcester State, and upon graduation, he looks to jump right into the world of broadcasting. Britz currently resides in Dracut, Mass. with the love of his life.
