Worcester State Director of Athletics to Hold Informational Meeting about Potential Startup of NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University Department of Athletics is in the workings of potentially adding an NCAA Division III Women’s Golf team to their list of varsity sports, and would like to grasp an understanding of the female interest on campus with an informational meeting.

 
 

The Worcester State University Department of Athletics currently has 19 (nine men, 10 women) Division III varsity athletic teams and with the hope of adding women’s golf, would make 20 (nine men, 11 women).

 
 

“The Worcester State University Athletic Department would like to guage the interest of creating an NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Team that could begin play as soon as the Fall of 2016,” said Director of Athletics, Michael Mudd.

 
 

On Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. the department will host an informational meeting for those interested in becoming a member of the Worcester State University Women’s Golf team (as soon as next year) at the Athletics Modular Conference Room located on the campus of Worcester State.

 
 

Mudd stated, “We will be hosting this meeting in order to learn more about the interest of female students on campus and to formulate a plan for the 2016-2017 season.”
