The Worcester State University Baseball squad and the Presidents Office have teamed up to host a toy drive for the locally based, Planting the Seed Foundation.
If you are interested in donating, please bring new gifts for boys and girls ranging from the ages of infant to 18 years old. All gifts will be distributed to children in need throughout Worcester County.
At the next two home games, the baseball team will have drop boxes available outside the gate for the men's basketball game against Regis on Saturday, December 4 (4:30 PM) and at the women's basketball contest against Trinity on Tuesday, December 7 (7 PM).
You can also drop off your donation at the Presidents Office in Room 255 of the Administration Building. The deadline for all donations is December 9th.
On the evening of December 9th at 5:30 PM, Worcester Fitness (440 Grove Street) will host an annual christmas party as part of the toy drive.
Planting the Seed Foundation is a 100 percent volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless children and thier families. Nearly all proceeds and donations go towards meeting the needs of homeless, displaced and low income families leaving shelters and establishing themselves in the Worcester Community.
Every year the foundation fundraises for efforts like the Holiday Toy Drive, STUFF THE BUS and HATS to help children and families with holiday gifts, supplies and summer camp. Also supporting the Holiday Toy Drive is Chartercom Channel 3 and WRCN 830 AM.
In 2009, over 4,500 toys were delivered to children in Worcester County.
