
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team had one named to the MASCAC weekly awards after this past week of action. First year Nathan Thurber (Framingham, MA) was named the Rookie of the Week by the MASCAC. The baseball team went 3-1 on the week and moved to 8-5 in the MASCAC.
Thurber batted .462 (6-13) with a triple, four RBI, four runs scored, two walks, three stolen bases, .615 slugging percentage and .533 on-base percentage in a 3-1 week for the Lancers. Was 4-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in the 14-4 win over Framingham State. Was 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored, walk and stolen base in the 8-7 win over Anna Maria.
Teammate senior Cole Glassburn (Hopkinton, MA) was named to this weeks MASCAC honor roll. Glassburn went 6.2 innings, giving up six hits, one earned run with seven strikeouts and four walks in the Lancers’ 3-1 win over Framingham State.
The Lancers are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Fitchburg State for a double header bill. The first pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
