Baseball Announces 2025 Schedule Release

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Baseball team, led by third year coach Phil Price, are pleased to announce their 2025 season schedule. The Lancers concluded last season advancing to the second round of the MASCAC Tournament and an 11-28, 9-12, in conference record. Worcester will be led by NCAA top ranked, and 2024 MASCAC First Team selection, graduate student Ben Smith (Bourne, MA) and seniors Tyler Smith (Leominster, MA) and Anthony Iamarone (Providence, RI). The trio will be joined but a wide array of returning and new talent both on the mound, in the field and at the plate as the team aims to claim the top spot in the conference.

“I’m really excited about the upcoming 2025 season” says Coach Price. “We have some strong veteran leadership and a nice crop of underclassmen who understand our goals as a program. In addition to Tyler, Ben and Anthony there are guys who have been here for three or more years now who are very hungry. This group seems to really believe in each and in my opinion, that’s a key component to success. As long as we stayed focused, this could be a very special year for the Lancers baseball team.”

The Blue and Gold begin their season on March 1st when they head to the New England Baseball Complex to take on the Anna Maria AMCATs before hosting their own game at the complex on March 7th when they welcome Wheaton. In their final game before spring break, the Lancers will journey to Wentworth on March 11th. In a repeat of last year, the baseball squad will be returning to the RussMatt Baseball tournament in Florida where they are scheduled to face double header meetings with Trinity on the 16th, St. Lawrence on the 17th, Juniata on March 19th, St. Norbert the following day and wrap up their trip with Hamilton on March 22nd. With their return home, Worcester will begin their conference season facing MCLA home on the 28th before journeying west on the 29th.

April will see the Lancers remain conference minded as they host Westfield State on April 4th before the return rip on the 5th. Stepping away from the conference slate will have the Blue and Gold facing Rivier on April 8th before beginning their home and away conference schedule with Framingham State on April 11th and 12th. April 15th will bring Fitchburg in Worcester for a single nine inning battle followed up by a meeting with UMass-Boston on the 16th. In a flip to the early conference schedule, Worcester will journey to Bridgewater on April 18th before hosting them for two on April 19th. Worcester will then return to the road on Patriots Day to head to Fitchburg State for two. April 25th will again send the Lancers east to Salem State on April 25th before the return double at home on the 26th. In their final out of conference action of the regular season, the Lancers will welcome Saint Jospeh on April 29th and Keene State on the 30th.

To closeout the regular season, Worcester State will head to Mass. Maritime on May 2nd before hosting the final double on May 3rd, in a game that will also honor the senior class of the baseball team.
