
Westfield, MA --- Junior Bryan Narcisse (Medway, MA) has been named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week for his standout performance in a season-opening victory over Anna Maria.
Narcisse was a stalwart defensively with a game-best 13 tackles including seven tackles for a loss (42 yards) and four sacks for 34 yards in a 34-6 triumph over Anna Maria. He also anchored a defense that yielded just 234 yards of total offense and a pass rush that only allowed 99 yards through the air.
As a result of his efforts this past week, Narcisse leads the MASCAC in tackles, tackles for a loss and sacks through the first reporting period of the season.
Last season was recognized as one of the best defensive linemen in the region with a nod to the D3football.com All-East Region Second-team.
After a 6-4 campaign for the Lancers in 2012, Narcisse logged 18.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks for 65 years to go with two forced fumbles. He was also third on the team in total tackles (67) and solo stops (46).
The Blue and Gold will play WPI in their home opener on Friday night under the lights of Coughlin Field at 7 PM.
